CATEGORY 1

Musica Sacra

Sacred pieces arranged for choral performance. Required for semi-finals and finals.

CATEGORY 2

Folk Song

Filipino folk songs (traditional or contemporary by Filipino composers) arranged for choral performance. Required for semi-finals and finals.

CATEGORY 3

Contest Piece

Competition piece provided upon qualifying for the finals. Demonstrates technical excellence and artistic interpretation.

Participant Eligibility

  • Open to high school choirs (public and private) from Region 5, Region 4-A, and NCR
  • Choirs that have won in international choral competitions within a year prior to the event are not eligible

Choir Composition

  • Minimum of 16 singers and maximum of 30 singers
  • All-male, all-female, or mixed groups allowed
  • Count includes conductor but excludes accompanists

Repertoire & Performance Times

  • Semi-Finals: Two (2) chosen pieces - Filipino Folk Song and Sacred Piece (arranged for choral performance)
  • Finals: Same two chosen pieces as semi-finals + Contest Piece (provided upon qualifying)
  • Performance Time - Semi-finals: 10 minutes maximum (including entrance and exit)
  • Performance Time - Finals: 12 minutes maximum (including entrance and exit)

Submission Requirements

  • Fully accomplished Registration Form (to be provided via email)
  • Roster of Singers with Certificate of Enrollment validated by the principal
  • Valid IDs of conductor and accompanist
  • Proof of copyright clearance for the chosen pieces (e.g., official receipts from copyright holders or licensing agencies)
